Still Small Voice Ministries

Continued.....

On the last evening we held a special service in which Pastors Bigboy and Sibonginkosi were ordained as 'General Overseers' to Hope of Life Ministries. We presented them with an ordination certificate from Still Small Voice Ministries sanctioned by Rhydlewis Christian Fellowship - our 'mother' church here in Wales.

They took an oath to serve and minister to the people and promised before God to manage all finances in line with biblical priciples. We then presented them with a small leatherbound bible each.
It was a moving time and a fitting end to an amazingly good church conference.

There is a particular brother we have not so far mentioned - his name is Christopher. On our first day in Hwange, Pastor Bigboy took us to meet him. He could barely walk even with the aid of two sticks.

Doctors had diagnosed cancer in his lower legs down to his feet. They were extremely swollen to maybe three times normal size. They were rough like sandpaper and covered with warty growths. His feet looked as if they would burst, were you to stick a pin in them. Christopher was in a great deal of pain.

For nearly two weeks we went everyday to his home and prayed and annointed him with oil. At the end of the two weeks the swelling had gone down considerably on his legs - although his feet and ankles were still very swollen, but somewhat better.
He was walking about on his sticks much faster than he had been before. However - something didn't feel right.
I was troubled in my spirit - I felt we were praying 'in the wrong direction'.

The words 'Elephant curse' came to me - and when I sought the Lord on it He revealed that Christopher had been cursed by a witchdoctor.

When we made enquiries as to how long Christopher had been suffering this condition, we were told - 16 years!
I immediately knew it wasn't cancer - I have had cancer and unless you are 'cured' or healed you have usually around 3 to 7 years tops. Then you are dead.

When I asked Christopher if he had ever had a run in with a witchdoctor he told us the story of how when he worked in the mines - [Hwange is a coal mining area] - he was due a promotion. However a rival who wanted the job paid a witchdoctor to curse him. That was 16 years ago!

He also told us that a previous doctor had diagnosed Elephantitis! - and that's exactly what this poor man's legs and feet look and feel like. Elephant skin! It was not cancer.

So we again annointed Christopher with oil - but this time we came against this curse and broke it in Jesus name.
This released him from the bondage of a very real and strong curse - then we prayed again for his healing.

Recent news from Zimbabwe indicates that Christopher is doing well and his legs are slowly returning to normal!

God's goodness and mercy was flowing the whole time we were in Zimbabwe.

We met and got to know many lovely people. One of the things that greatly impressed us was the level of joy the people have in situations of great dificulty.

Though they may have very little in the way of material things - their faith is strong. They really do trust Jesus.

In the current situation it is our duty to do all we can to provide them with food.

In practical terms this means sending money.
And in this situation the money goes straight out to Pastor Bigboy via Western Union.

There is nothing that is 'wasted' on admin or 'red tape'.

During our month in Zimbabwe I shot many hours of video footage - At Victoria Falls - at the conference - at peoples homes - at our living quarters - and in Hwange Wildlife park. On our last but one day we visited Chobe National Park and got some stunning live footage of Elephant - Girraffe - Crocodiles - Baboons and many other species of animal.
We were blessed to capture some very exciting stuff - both spiritual and animal!

We are making this edited footage available on DVD - with all proceeds going to feed our brothers and sisters at  'Hope of Life Ministries' in Zimbabwe.

  Pastor Bigboy and his staff work tirelessly for the sake of the Gospel of Christ.

  They receive no wages and rely entirely on the generosity of more affluent believers.
Although everybody here looks fine - remember we had fed them for a month before this photo.
